What is trauma and stress?
- Trauma can stem from a single overwhelming event or repeated exposure to distress over time. It affects not only the mind but also the body and spirit, often leaving individuals feeling disconnected, unsafe, or stuck in survival mode.
- Stress, while a normal part of life, becomes harmful when it is chronic or unmanageable, impacting emotional regulation, relationships, and physical well-being.
You might be struggling to name or understand what you are experiencing. You may be feeling “too much,” “too little,” or nothing at all.
Trauma and prolonged stress can shape how we see ourselves and the world, often creating patterns that once protected us but now hold us back.
What is stress and trauma counselling?
In our work together, my role is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where healing can begin. As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your specific needs.
Sometimes, that means gently exploring the roots of pain. Other times, it’s about grounding techniques, helping you find safety in the present moment.
Together, we can build awareness, develop coping strategies, and rediscover inner resources.
The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a repairing experience, helping to restore trust and connection and promoting self-compassion.
Resolving trauma and stress
Healing from trauma and managing stress isn’t about “fixing” — instead, it’s about walking alongside you as you rediscover your strength, reclaim your story, and move forward with greater resilience and self-understanding.
You’re not alone in this. And with the right support, change is not only possible—it’s profoundly human.
